The Wrap Up Vol 12

The Wrap Up Vol 12

Staying healthy, happy and 90-Day focused, becoming tech savvy, anti bra and makeup, Netflix binges and Virtual “Happy Hours” in this month’s the Wrap Up Vol 12

All I can say is W-O-W! What a difference a month and a half can make. Things have changed so drastically in the world with the introduction and vast movement of COVID-19 (aka Coronavirus).

Ups Down and All Arounds

Ups

I’m happy to report that my friends, family and I are healthy and have remained healthy throughout and the COVID 19 pandemic.

And I truly pray the same for your circle as well. ❤️

I’m super proud of myself because I actually sat down and FINALLY committed to (some obtainable) goals over the next 90 days. It’s no secret that I more than lack focus in the goal planning department. But I can say that goal planning is so much easier with help of my new 90 Day Progress Journal. And bonus: I no longer feel overwhelmed anymore.

Downs

I took some time off of social media and my new proposed (audacious) writing schedule to really sit with and adjust to our “new normal”. Taking time away to be silent has really helped clear my head, deepen my appreciation for the smaller things and to refocus on what’s important to me in life and career.

All Arounds

I leveled up on my tech game by hooking up a new wireless network booster in my home. Now my internet is lighting fast in every room and every corner of my home. But wait, that’s not all. . . I also hooked up my new Google Home screens and speakers as well. too. And last but not least, I upgraded from an older MacBook Air to a new (refurbished) MacBook Pro. It was time. My poor baby sounded like she had asthma. It was not ok.

Quote of the Month:

Here’s What You Missed on ThisIsMelDrake.com

Overwhelmed working from home? Here’s how to be more efficient and how to maximize your productivity.

Worried about turning the big 4-0? Don't be. I'm fully embracing my #OKBoomer status and you should be too! Here's 41 life lessons to live by

If I told you that you can charter a day cruise in Fiji to a private island for less than $110, would you believe me?

A Little This & That

Wearing

Aside from bras and make-up personally being deemed non-essential these days, sweats and bodysuits are where it’s at.

Here are some of my latest acquisitions:

Watching

The real question is. . . what am I not watching? But if you are looking for a way to pass the time during the coronavirus self quarantine? Here’s 36 of the best tv shows you can watch right now!

Other Notables:

Super obsessed with Married at First Sight (thank you (again) Netflix).

Listening

Podcasts have been my level of comfort and the new “Savage” remix with Beyonce and “Juicy” by Doja Cat have been my new monthly jam obsession.

Reading

Appliance and tech manuals. I know it’s not too exciting but there couldn’t be a better time to actually learn how stuff really works.

Eating + Drinking

These days, I’m doing a lot more home cooking than usual. And Blue Apron paired with Wal-Mart grocery pick up are the real MVP’s over the last 1 1/2 months.

And virtual Happy Hours with my friends are now “a thing”.

Annnnnd if virtual Happy Hours have become “a thing” with you and your crew too, I’ve got you covered with a few of my favorite cocktail suggestions.

Visiting

In the words of Lil Jon “to the window, to the wall. . . “ and that’s about all we’ll quote from his song. . .

The point being is, daily visits to the kitchen, office and family room have become life. The Social Distancing Life. And I’m not upset about it.

It’s a short-term personal sacrifice for a long-term gain of the greater good.

Love to you all.  Annnnnnnd that’s a wrap!

-XOXO Melissa
